10 Easy Life Hacks: How To Break Out Of Your Comfort Zone

When we get comfortable, we become lazy, we procrastinate, and we slowly and secretly destroy our lives. The truth is that our comfort zone is less about comfort and more about fear. Sometimes we can be so afraid to get out of it that we’d rather stay there than admit it that we became comfortable. But that is not the wisest decision, isn’t it?

There’s so much more outside our comfort zone that’s waiting for us to be discovered. It only takes one tiny step to begin with and a bit of courage to move forward. If you don’t dare to change something in your life, you’ll only stop yourself from growing, evolving, and discovering incredible experiences that life’s holding out for you.

With no further ado, in today’s post, we’re discussing ten ways that’ll help you step out from your comfort zone. Pay attention, apply, and commit!

1. Establish Your Comfort Zone

First things first. You must define what stands inside your comfort zone and what stands outside. So, what are the things you wish you could do but yet you’re too afraid to do? Take a pen and a paper and establish what causes you discomfort. But most importantly, ask yourself ‘why?’ – why does that thing make me so uncomfortable? You must first understand your fears in order to overcome them.

2. Find Your True Motivation

The right motivation can make us do the things that seemed impossible. If you’re tired of living in fear and want to make a change in your life, you must find your true motivation.

Now, there are two types of motivation: the one that comes from external factors, and the one that comes from within ourselves. Of course, the most powerful is the one that comes from within, but a rewarding system (that works for you) can work pretty well too.

3. Set Clear Goals

No matter what you do in life, you must have a path to follow and you must know where you’re heading. Goals are really important both for helping you keep up with your progress and for getting you closer to your destination. It’s not enough to know your destination. You must know the road too, meaning that you should plan out in advance the steps you need to take in order to reach the big objective. Fail to do that and you won’t reach your destination any time soon.

4. Get Comfortable With Discomfort

Getting comfortable with discomfort is a great way to trick yourself to get out of your comfort zone. The difference stands in your perception. So, you’ll perceive it as an expansion of your comfort zone. You can even turn it into a game like trying something new every day. No one said that this process is supposed to be hard or boring. You can make it how you want it to be.

5. Learn From Your Failures

Most of us believe that failures are unfortunate things to happen, and yet they’re the best things to learn from. Personally, I’m not aware of a person who didn’t fail at least a dozen times before their first glimpse of success. Failure is the stepping stone to success.

6. Move Forward With Baby Steps

Some believe that the golden rule for achieving success in this life is approaching it with baby steps. Now, it is up to you if you believe it or not, but you should at least give it a try.

If you what to jump immediately outside of your comfort zone, you’ll most probably get overwhelmed and turn back to your initial state. Just one improvement at a time is enough to get you started on this journey.

7. Stay True To Yourself

When we’re afraid to do something or when we simply choose to do something more comfortable instead, we can get very creative at making up excuses (even if it’s just for ourselves).

We’d rather lie to ourselves that we don’t have the time, while we know that we can always make time if we wanted to. If we don’t have the guts to acknowledge that to ourselves that we’re afraid to take action, then we’re just being unauthentic with ourselves.

8. Raise Your Self-Esteem

We can all lack self-esteem every now and then and that’s no shame. This life can bring down even the tallest mountains. But in those times of worry, I believe that we need a sweet reminder that we’re beautiful people that can achieve anything we want to. If we don’t believe in ourselves and don’t see how great we actually are then who is going to?

9. Join A Support Group

We can all use some support when tough times arise. If there’s no one around you there are a lot of people in all sorts of support groups that are ready to cheer you up and send you positive thoughts. Remember that you’re not the only one dealing with the attempt of breaking out of your comfort zone. If you feel like it, you can pay back the support by offering your presence and warm words.

10. Ignore Other’s Opinions

These days, people are getting meaner and meaner with each other. Some people don’t even bother showing consideration with what they are saying. But we should never ever think about random people’s opinions because they are the perfect mirror for their bad thoughts, words, and energy.

So, why consume yourself with somebody else’s frustration? Just focus on your opinions because those are the ones that really matter.

Conclusion

Getting out of your comfort zone sounds easy in theory, but it takes a strong will to break your routine of comfort. Just remember to take your time on this journey. You can change your life. Be present, stay focused on your goals, and in a matter of days or weeks, you’ll look at the world in a whole new way.

Finding a motivation seems crucial when it comes to changing anything in your life. You always need to know why you’re doing some things. If you know it’s not just mindlessly repeating but you actually can benefit from a change, implementing it will get easier.
