10 Tips On How To Feel Comfortable In Stressful Situations

A life without stress is a luxury no one can afford. Every day we deal with thousands of challenges, faced with hundreds of problems, and struggle to make proper decisions in different life situations.  For a human being, even living in a big city is a stressful situation. It seems that we cannot avoid stress. However, there are some ways to feel comfortable living in tension.

  1. Find what causes stress

First of all, find out what causes stress in your life. There is always something that is more stressful to us. Perhaps, this is your job or your studies, or even relations with other people. Getting rid of the things causing you stress can make your life better. Of course, sometimes it is difficult to define what affects your life. In this case, you need to make a few experiments and analyze how exactly they influence your state of mind.

  1. Practice breathing techniques

Deep and controlled breathing is the best way to calm down and find the most comfortable place for your thoughts. Breathing techniques are also effective in the long run. Once you feel the stress is rising again, you can always come back to the state of mind of full relaxation.

  1.  Deal with anxiety

Anxiety causes stressful situations for many people. To reduce the level of stress and feel more comfortable, find a way to deal with your anxiety.

In fact, the best way to find a balance here is to stretch your body. Anxiety usually concentrates in some areas of your body: the lower back, the shoulders, and the neck. You can feel that these body parts are tensed. When you stretch, the tension reduces. Massage causes the same effect.

  1. Find your own way of meditation

Meditation is probably the best way to learn how to deal with stress. However, to get the desired result you need to find your proper way of meditation. For some people, the most effective meditation is to sit with closed eyes, for other people the visualizing techniques work better.

  1. Be self-compassionate

People always blame themselves for the mistakes they make. Self-blaming always leads to self-disappointment and it causes even more stress. Cultivate self-compassion. Allow making mistakes and taking wrong decisions. Accept the fact that you are only a human being and cannot do everything in a proper way.

  1. Find support

Stress always has a stronger effect on people who have no support. Emotional connection with other people helps overcome problems. Reach out to people who you respect and whom you trust.

  1. Be concentrated on one thing at a time

Multitasking has several negative effects: it reduces your productivity, you lose your concentration, and you become less protected from stress. If you want to feel comfortable, get rid of the habit to deal with several things.

Always concentrate on one thing. In this way, your brain receives enough signals to cope with this task. If you send several signals for different tasks, your brain cannot cope with them as it gets tired quicker, and it leads to stress.

  1.  Get a plan

The studies have proved that people who have a plan are less exposed to stress than people who always act intuitively. Plans give confidence in your actions.

Create both long-term and short-term plans. The only requirement for them is that they should be real to implement.

  1. Listen to music

A healing effect of music has been noticed a long time ago. Today, music is one of the most therapeutic methods for dealing with stress. Professionals recommend listening to classical music daily. You can also choose relaxing and chill out tracks, or listening to your favourite kind of music.

  1. Find another perspective

Each stressful situation is considered to be the biggest problem. Learn to look at this situation from another perspective. Think about the consequences of this situation in a week and in a year. If you think that you will forget this situation in a couple of days and it will never affect your life, try not to think about it at all. Concentrate on more important and pleasant things.
Perhaps, the most effective recommendation for people who permanently live in stress is to keep calm and carry on. If you cannot follow these words, use our tips. Practice them every day and you will notice how your life and your attitude to life changes. Let go of the stress and bring joy to what you do!
