The people whom you spend the most time with you will become like them, it is not just a statement, that is a fact. John Locke said it best; “We are like chameleons, we take our hue and the color of our moral character, from those who are around us.” Who are you becoming? What are you reading? How are you acting on a daily basis? What are you uttering to yourself? And where are you heading with your life if you continue to surround yourself with your current friends?
Take a step back and evaluate the people in your life. Are these people growing mentally, spiritually, and financially? Or are you surrounding yourself with people who have just accepted the mediocre life and live with a sense of resignation?
The people around you should believe in you, they should uplift you, they should make you believe in yourself to a greater degree, they should push you to be the best that you can be, and they should hold you to a higher standard so that you may achieve your dreams.
Evaluate and then eliminate the people around you who lack ambition, who do not want to step it up to a new level, who do not want to read books on success, who do not want to learn, and who do not take action.
This is your life, so it is important that you surround yourself with people who are serious about success. Five years from now if you are living like a wage slave because you choose to waste your time with people who were not pursuing their dreams, it will be your own fault.
Let your company be a reflection of the person that you want to become. Surround yourself with the dreamchasers, the ones who are hungry to make a difference, the ones who take action, the ones who set goals, the ones who are good people, the ones who treat you with respect and raise your character to a higher level, the ones who are humble, the ones who make you feel good about yourself, and the ones who are doing something positive with their life.
Be with those who are hard working, they get things done, they make things happen, they set goals and they accomplish them. Be with those who are positive, many people in life are just focused on complaining about life, focusing on what they don’t have, many men are being brought up acting like little girls, thinking that complaining benefits their life. One rule for success: Don’t act like a little baby. It is important that you do not surround yourself with the complainers, the weak people who expect things to be handed to them, if you surround yourself with cowards you will become one eventually.
Mediocre folk do mediocre things on a daily basis and that is why they remain confined to the broke life. If you want to take your life to a new level get rid of the garbage in your life.
Surround yourself with the people who are fearless in regards to pursuing their dreams, the believers who instill a deep humble confidence within you, the ones who want to see you succeed, and the ones who see the greatness within you even when you don’t see it yourself. Be amongst the ones who think differently, who dream differently, and who act differently. These traits will rub off on you naturally, and you will shed the mediocre skin and develop yourself into the one who you truly want to be. Sacrifices must be made to live the entrepreneur’s life.
Believe in yourself and keep good company, your friends and the people with whom you associate with the most will impact the direction is which your life goes and the person that you ultimately become. It is your responsibility to surround yourself with the best, seek those individuals out who are living life on a different level, get out of your comfort zone, and leave the ones who confine you to a mediocre existence. Let go and fly towards your dreams. Let the ones whom you spend time with be addicted to the grind, addicted to taking action, and addicted to success.
